PETERBOROUGH UTILITIES COMMISSION PROPOSAL REQUEST #2019-22 The existing Water Street Dam is located on the Otonabee River, within the city limits of Peterborough, Ontario. The dam structure itself is approximately 200 feet long and is made up of (8) stop log controlled sluices supported by concrete piers and abutments. The concrete is showing signs of degradation triggering the need for a concrete quality investigation, including obtaining representative core samples from all areas of the bridge displaying localized concrete deterioration. The components of Engineering Services required for this Proposal Request include; confirmation of required scope of work, review of existing site conditions (including a concrete quality investigation), review of Water Street Dam inspection reports and recommendations, preparation of specifications for tender, engineers construction estimate, and design drawings. The intent with respect to the project schedule is for completion of the concrete quality investigation, design drawings and tender specifications in 2019. PUG will be responsible for tendering the project in early 2020. Interested Proponents can view the Proposal Request at https://peterboroughutilities.bidsandtenders.ca and then register as Plan Takers to download the official documents. An optional site meeting will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at the Water Street Pump House & Dam located at 1180 Water Street North, Peterborough, Ontario. Attendance at this meeting is not mandatory; but interested Proponents are encouraged to attend as minutes from the meeting shall not be provided. PROPOSALS will be available for online submission only through the bids&tenders website until 2:00:00 p.m. Local Time, Thursday, June 27, 2019. The Peterborough Utilities Commission may, at its sole discretion, accept or reject any or all responses to this Proposal Request and reserves the right to accept any Proposal which it deems to be advantageous, regardless of the price(s) contained in that Proposal.
